Senior Care FAQs
What is home care?
Home care refers to any type of care both medical and non-medical that is provided to the patient in their home.
What type of home care do you provide?
We provide non-medical care such as companionship and home helper services as well as personal care services. We do not provide home healthcare involving any skilled nursing care, speech, occupational or physical therapy.
Who needs in-home care and why should I choose it?
Anyone who needs additional help with their daily living activities and wants to stay in the comforts of their own home while maintaining their independent lifestyle. Often times the help needed is for just a few hours a day and we can create a customized care plan that meets your needs and budget that will be much less expensive then a costly assisted living facility.
How do you select your caregivers?
All of our caregivers are thoroughly screened including Florida Department of Law Enforcement background checks. They are also all bonded and insured.
What are your caregivers qualifications?
All of our caregivers are extensively trained and educated in Alzheimer's and Disease Related Disorders, as well as CPR and First Aid. We also provide ongoing training and field supervision.
What if my caregiver is sick or goes on a vacation?
We always have a continuous supply of caregivers that are available to cover vacations, sickness or any emergency. This is one important reason why you should use Senior Aid instead of someone in the newspaper.
When and how do I meet my caregiver?
Every new client will receive a no-obligation in home consultation. During this conference we will properly assess your needs, interest and personality as well as identify the services that will be required. Then we will match your needs to a caregiver with the necessary skills and similar personality to obtain the "Perfect Match".
How much does the service cost?
In most cases we bill on an hourly basis. Our schedule and hours are flexible so we can adapt our services to your changing needs.
How do the caregivers get paid?
At Senior Aid we only use employees as caregivers; never sub contractors. This means we will invoice you directly and then handle all the compensation, payroll taxes, and benefits for the caregivers.
What makes Senior Aid different then other home companion providers?
We are a licensed home health agency through the state of Florida with over 20 years of combined home care experience. We also have a registered nurse on staff to oversee our personal care services and provide ongoing field supervision of our staff.
